Material and technical resources
Pavlodar Higher Medical College is situated within a typical educational building. There are 3 campus buildings. Currently, these buildings are designed to house classrooms, lecture audiences and laboratories for theoretical and practical classes. Facilities took place in one of them.
The total area is 6545,1 square meters where the training area is 6394,5 square meters which corresponds to the current sanitary standards. There are 6,3 square meters per 1 student.
As a part of the implementation of the State Obligatory Education Standard of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the college administration creates modern educational environment in classrooms and laboratories. This environment is most closely approximate the requirements of practical public health and the real conditions of the future professional activity of students. The light-filled campus buildings include classrooms and laboratories, events hall with an area of 250,8 square meters, dining room for 200 people, library with a reading room for 30 seats, gym and professional football field for sports events.
Сollege equipped with 41 classrooms and laboratories to conduct an educational lessons. 10 classroms are located in medical organizations for the same purpose while taking into account the possibility of combining them when it comes to the related subjects and specialties.
The college administration regularly makes arrangements to upgrarde the material and technical resources. Optimal conditions for the the educational process are created in the college. Rooms reserved for classrooms and laboratories meet the sanitary and hygienic requirements, are designed to hold the required number of students, accommodate the educational equipment and special furniture provided by the equipment table, allow observing the safety rules during practical and laboratory classes.
Conditions created in the classrooms intend to develop the basic and professional competencies which are necessary for the activity of a paramedical worker. The design of all cabinets is as close to the workplace of a future specialist as possible.
There is a simulation center which is equipped with modern medical simulators, phantoms, mannequins, hardware, patient care equipment and essential medical items. For example, there is a robot-simulator programmed by a computer with a software license for creating its own clinical scenarios on a separate (remote) computer for training emergency skills. Also, the following items are at students’ disposal: a multifunctional computerized simulation dummy for maternity and newborn delivery, instrumental birth trainer, extended version of a dummy for patient care, infant simulator for cardiopulmonary resuscitation allowing the procedure to be monitored, Ambu phantom system for defibrillation and cardiopulmonary Resuscitation with Wi-Fi support, electric model for intubation of the trachea with a set of laryngoscopes and Ambu bag for adults and newborns, improved trauma trainer, tracheostomy trainer, trainer for puncture and draining the pleural cavity with a simulation of pneumatic- and hydrothorax, etc.
College maintains an effective work on introduction of information technologies intp the educational process. There are 5 computer classes with 140 installed computers. All structural departments of the college are provided with computer and office equipment. All college computers are connected to the local network and they are granted an access to the Internet through a broadband Internet channel. The Wi-Fi system is installed in each of three campus buildings to provide mobile free wireless access to the all kinds of information online.
There are 14 interactive whiteboards in the college.
The cabinet of obstetrics and gynecology in the regional perinatal center is updated with modern medical simulators.
The video conference room is equipped with all necessary features to conduct video lectures online. In order to create an appropriate environment for studying language disciplines, the new multimedia technologies are implemented within a language lab.
College has an electronic schedule system. Four displays broadcast the schedule of each class in a 24/7 mode for the current day and the next week too. An electronic terminal is installed to provide students and teachers with the schedule of lessons, sessions, state exams, gym, etc.
In order to ensure the safety of students and college staff, a video surveillance system operates. It consists of 86 internal and external high-resolution video cameras with professional software and the ability to monitor all cameras simultaneously.
The following modern medical simulators have been purchased in 2016-2017 academic year for mastering practical skills: intravenous injection simulator (12 pcs.), simulator for a coniotomy (3 pcs.), leg model with a simulation of an external bleeding (4 pcs.), soft tissue model for surgical sutures treatment (4pcs.), interactive whiteboards (5 pcs.), assembled personal computers (6 pcs.), TVs (7 pcs.), video projectors (5 pcs.), sterilizer "TermoEst" (1 piece), racks for the library (74 pcs.), chairs for the events hall (248 pcs.). Applications were made to purchase a computerized robot-simulator.

There is the Continuing Education and Simulation Studies Centre for advanced training and retraining of paramedical and pharmaceutical workers that also provides medical training, testing, certification and an objective evaluation of the level of training of health care experts.
In total, as of 01.10.2017, there are 54,449 copies in the library book stock (including 10,090 copies in the State language).
During the academic year the library received 541 copies (including 360 copies in the State language). The largest part of the acquired literature is textbooks devoted to the Nursing Care, Medical Care as well as general professional and special disciplines: Pathoanatomy, Pathophysiology, Pediatrics, Nursing Care in Pediatrics, Fundamentals of Nursing Care, Propaedeutics of Internal Diseases. There are also textbooks dedicated to the General Anatomy and Hominal Physiology for students of medical educational institutions.
In addition, the fund received educational and methodological and scientific literature as well as the State standard "The State Pharmacopoeia of the Republic of Kazakhstan" for Pharmacy students.
An educational fund consists of 27,525 copies from the total amount of books (including 6,550 copies in the State language). 527 copies (including 360 copies in the State language) were added to this fund.
The educational and methodological fund consists of 5,449 copies from the total amount of books (including 965 copies in the State language).
The scientific fund consists of 13,587 copies from the total amount of books (including 2,136 copies in the State language).
Media library has 1,955 digital copies. 59 digital copies on general humanitarian and special subjects were added to the fund during the year. This year there were 19 video lessons within the walls of the library. These videolessons were dedicated to the following specialties: Ecology, Self-understanding, Orthopedic Dentistry, Propaedeutics of Internal Diseases, General Medecine, Medical biology.
The number of periodicals issued by the college library consists of 54 titles (15 newspapers and 39 magazines). 21 titles (including 6 newspapers and 15 magazines) are given in the State language. The library issued publications on Healthcare Science, foreign languages, Kazakh language, Nursing Care, General Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, etc.
The "Automated Information Library System of the Electronic Catalog МАRK-SQL" is implemented within the library. There are 3 electronic catalogs: "School Library", "Bookshelf" and "Multimedia Editions".
Health care for students, teachers and staff is provided by the physician and the nurse of the first-aid room. The medical activity of the cabinet is carried out in accordance with the license issued by the Department of Public Health of the Pavlodar region. All procedures are carried out according to schedule.
