Since the official announcement of the EXPO worldwide exhibition in Astana 2017, there have been many discussions about it. What opportunities will be given to us? Let's figure out what EXPO is. This is an international exhibition which symbolizes industrialization and open platform for demonstrating technical and technological achievements. The world exhibition dates back to 1851. That said, running through the history of EXPO, you can make a conclusion that it is one of the most high-profile events that provides the host country and the city with prestige in the first place. Many people may ask: why did Kazakhstan need it? Will it get regained? These are quite reasonable questions. The main goal is not limited by getting into some list, but to improve the living standards of the country's population. We do our best to prevent the external factors, especially political events, from affecting on the common people. To do this, we need to diversify the economy for less dependence on world oil and gas prices and we need to develop the infrastructure of alternative energy sources which, in turn, are environmentally friendly. One of the most expensive parts of the national budget and, most likely, the most important is the infrastructure (social, transport, innovational). Our country takes 62th place with 4 points from seven possible in this list. Let's move to the conclusions and try to answer the following question: what are the opportunities of the EXPO?

From the perspective of the country:

1) encouragement of investments

  • 2) cooperation with leading organizations in the successful implementation of alternative energy sources

In the eye of the first-time entrepreneurs in the field of alternative energy sources:

1) implementation of the start-up projects in the field of renewable energy

From the standpoint of the local technical universities:

1) partnership with leading foreign technology universities and companies

With regard to business community:

1) implementation of the projects concerning the renewable energy

Through the lens of citizens:

1) progressive way of preserving the environment for future generations, the first steps towards utilizing the alternative energy sources
